Property Rescue have been buying houses since 2005, were among the first members of the National Association of Property Buyers, and hold a 4.8 on Trustpilot from around 410 reviews. They buy directly for cash, generally at around 80% of market value for houses, and also offer an assisted sale through investors or auction. They are a credible, established option. The comparison with Bettermove comes down to how the price is confirmed after the first offer, what you see at the survey stage, and how each second route works.
Property Rescue: key facts and figures
Property Rescue Limited was incorporated in November 2005 (company number 05636616) and is based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. They have been NAPB members since January 2014 (member no. 02; they describe themselves as a founder member) and are registered with The Property Ombudsman. They say they generally pay about 80% of market value for a house and around 75% for a flat, with the percentage varying below £150,000. There are no fees to the seller: the valuation is free and they cover legal fees when you use their panel solicitor. They buy across England and Wales, including flats, tenanted and commercial property. Flats with cladding issues are considered case by case, according to their more recent statements. They also offer an assisted sale (free, not guaranteed, typically 90% or more of market value, they say), part exchange, and sale and rent back, for which they say they are FCA-authorised.
How Property Rescue works
They say you can typically expect an offer within 24 hours, often the same day. An independent firm then inspects the property and its report goes to two local estate agents for their view of value; their site also refers to a chartered surveyor’s survey. They say the formal offer matches the first one in 95% of cases. Completion typically takes two to four weeks, exchange can happen in as little as 48 hours, and their fastest completion on record was seven days. The sale is described as guaranteed once you accept and the survey is done, and they say you can withdraw at no cost before exchange.
What Property Rescue do well
- More than 20 years of trading and NAPB membership since January 2014
- Trustpilot 4.8 from around 410 reviews, with 88% five-star
- No fees to the seller: valuation free and legal costs covered with their panel solicitors
- Offer typically within 24 hours, completion usually in two to four weeks
- An assisted sale through investors or auction, at no cost, if you would rather aim higher
- Part exchange, sale and rent back, and an interest-free cash advance after exchange
What to watch out for
- “About 80%” is their figure for houses, with a lower figure for flats; ask what yours would be
- Ask what would make the formal offer differ from the first one, and get the answer in writing
- Ask who will inspect your home and whether you will see the report
- The assisted sale is not guaranteed and has no fixed timescale, as with any investor route, including ours
- If your flat has cladding issues, confirm their position before you proceed
Property Rescue vs Bettermove: how they compare
Both are NAPB and TPO members that buy directly for cash with no fees, and both offer a second route. The differences are in the survey stage and how each second route works.

What the Trustpilot scores tell you
At the time of writing, Property Rescue’s Trustpilot score is higher than ours, and we would rather say that plainly. Bettermove’s score comes from a much larger number of reviews, and a higher share of ours are one to three stars. Around ten of their reviews were posted in the past year, all four or five stars; with any company, including us, read recent and older reviews as well as the headline figure. Their 17 one- to three-star reviews date from 2019 to early 2025 and are mostly about price, including several describing a reduction after a survey. Property Rescue replied to 11 of them, saying its surveyors are independent and RICS-qualified and that sellers can turn down a reduced offer at no cost.
💡 Ask Property Rescue what would make their formal offer differ from the first one, and ask Bettermove the same. A written answer is worth more than any headline percentage.
“With any buyer, including us, the first figure you hear is not the one that matters. What matters is the figure after the survey, and whether you can see why it moved.”

Bettermove’s verdict
Property Rescue are one of the most established names in the industry and belong on the shortlist for a cash sale in England or Wales. Compare written offers after the survey. We share the full survey report with you; their site promises clear explanations but does not say whether you will see the report, so ask. Our investor network quotes up to 93% of market value: we agree a minimum net sum with you first, aim to have a sale agreed within 30 days and require the buyer to pay an exclusivity deposit. Like any investor route, it is not a guaranteed purchase, and if no sale is agreed you are free to walk away. Our Price Promise also applies: if you receive a genuine written cash offer from a regulated UK property buyer after our initial offer, we will review it and match or beat it if we can (key terms on our Sellers page).
