Sellers were told it would take three months. It took nine. They accepted an offer, and then watched it fall apart when the buyer’s mortgage was declined. They started again. More viewings, more waiting, more uncertainty. The process offered no guarantees and no accountability, just hope.
Chains were collapsing at the worst possible moment.
One weak link, a buyer who got cold feet, a mortgage that fell through, a survey that came in low, could derail three or four families at once. There was no safety net. Just the phone call telling you to start again.
