What do you actually do at Bettermove (in plain English)?
I am the main point of contact for sellers from the initial onboarding all the way through to getting an offer accepted. I provide regular updates to the sellers, so they are kept informed on the progress we are making, and I assist with creating marketing brochures, booking in viewings, and generally making the process as easy as possible for vendors.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
My main enjoyment outside of work is playing a range of sports and keeping active. I am a keen golfer during the summer months; I play football with friends and take part in Darts tournaments.
What’s something people would never guess about you?
Most people don’t know that I was Leeds Beckett Captain for the Men’s Futsal Team, which isn’t a very well-known sport in England I would say.
What’s your favourite thing right now — a food, film, show, hobby, gadget or place you love?
My Favourite thing right now would be learning small DIY/home projects. It’s a nice mix of creativity and problem-solving.
What’s the most unusual or surprising job you’ve ever had before Bettermove?
I had a summer job whilst studying at University at an Outdoor education & adventure company where I was running summer camps full of outdoor activities such as: Archery, Raft Building, Zip Wire and many more. I also assisted on Educational Trips taking foreign students around cities such as Cambridge and York.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
You can’t grow in your comfort zone.
What’s your go-to guilty pleasure (food, show, snack or soundtrack)?
Its controversial but my favourite snack right now is Fig Rolls.
What’s one thing you think Bettermove does better than anyone else?
It’s our Proactive approach that makes all the difference.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about property that you wish more people understood?
Your home doesn’t have to look like a show home to sell, people also value potential and not just perfection.
What’s the most useful skill you’ve developed since working in property?
I’d say problem-solving. In property, unexpected issues pop up all the time whether it’s a delay or a legal matter. I’ve learned to stay calm, assess options quickly, and adapt to get the best outcome
